Thursday, we had 14 racers at Wild Harbor for the invitational regatta! It was a perfect day for the kids to get used to what regattas are like and learn what it means to race 420s in a big fleet. The wind was very light and we had some swimming time during postponement, but the race committee was able to complete 3 races. Olivia Ventola and Sophia Merageas, Lucy Norton and Luke Ventola, and Ben and Noah Garfield sailed extremely well in their respective boats, staying in the top of the fleet for all three races. Tor Holck, Jeremy Kunen, Nick Steinert, Max Steinert, Teddy Saunders, Colby Davis, Meredith Davis, and Brendan Lynch were all sailing with a great attitude and interest in learning. Everyone did incredibly well for their first regatta experience, and learned a lot about light wind sailing from watching sail trim to the importance of clean air after a start. We're very glad we had so many racers at the Wild Harbor Invitational this year and hope to keep it going for next year!
