August 4 & 5, 2014

Everyone trekked up to Scituate on Sunday with the trailers and 5 boats to get everything ready for the regatta on Monday and Tuesday. Both days of the regatta were extremely light wind, which can be tough for racers used to the strong southwest wind of Buzzards Bay, but were a great learning experience for everyone. We completed 3 races the first day, and after a long postponement and some swimming, got two races off the second day. Peter Ventola and Christos Karplus had a top 10 finish, and along with Nicholas Hunnewell and Andreya Zvonar kept up with the top of the fleet. Olivia First and Olivia Johnson sailed extremely well both days with an incredible ability to apply the light wind tactics and advice we gave them, also keeping up with the top half of the fleet. Allie Kunen, Anna Rubin, Izzy Rubin, and Jessica Hunnewell all did a great job passing boats and sailing clean downwinds, and definitely learned a lot from the light wind experience.
