Update from the Commodore Winter 2021
Hello QYC Membership,
What’s the best thing to do in February? Dream about summer! While ice floats about the harbor, your officers, directors, and committees are hard at work preparing a line-up of 2021 programs and events. Please check out our draft 2021 QYC Calendar.
While we realize that Covid-19 could dash some of our plans, we have pegged dates for traditional programming as well as some NEW events – be sure to check out news for the S Class Invitational, Falmouth Yacht Club 50th Anniversary Invitational, Herreshoff Sail About Challenge, Herreshoff Marine Museum Jubilee Celebration, and QYC Cruising.
I would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the volunteers who make this wonderful club click along. By the list of news links, you can see it takes many hands. The Junior Sailing Committee in particular deserves a round of virtual hugs for overseeing the all-important important mission of educating our kids. Coivd-19 has made this undertaking particularly challenging and I commend them and JS Program Director, Quentin Chafee, in conjunction with the Quissett Harbor House Land Trust for planning a fun, educational, and safe program.
Have a question or want to volunteer for one of our committees? Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The more hands we have the more fun we’ll have!
Weatherly Dorris, Commodore
